Yaku (याकु) is a village development committee in Bhojpur District in the Kosi Zone of eastern Nepal. It is inhabited mainly by Dhakal (ढकाल). However, a few other castes are also found. Yaku is also known to be birta of the Dhakals. Even though it is a remote place it has produced a number of well known figures in Nepal including academicians, bureaucrats and politicians.At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4867 persons living in 367 individual households.[1]
It is one of the growing towns in the eastren part of the district, and it is one remote VDCs in the Bhojpur district. It takes about a four hours hiking to get to the headquarter, Bhojpur Bazar. It is very known place even for Bhojpure people of eastren belt.
Yaku is one of the 63 Village Development Committees of Bhojpur district. It is about 4 miles east of district quarter Bhojpur Bazaar. The area is said to be 14.65 square kilometers.
